A young gunslinger with a complicated family situation. Has a hawk. Sometimes comfortable. |
A crack shot trying to piece together her broken family.
Appearance
Sizzle is a young woman with a slight, wiry build. She has steely grey eyes with a steady, focused gaze. Her curly blonde hair is long enough to brush her elbows when let loose, but more often than not is pulled back in a braid to keep it contained. Her clothes, well-worn but equally well-cared for, are cut in a style more reminiscent of the Imperial City than Duskvol. In addition, she wears a deep red cloak that can be pulled up to obscure the lower half of her face.
Two revolvers hang from her belt, the butt of their handles pointed forward. The guns themselves have a distinct copper sheen to them and are always freshly polished. The same leather used for the holsters has also been worked into bracers and close-fitting spaulders that provide a resting place for her hawk, Velvet.
Velvet
Velvet is a harrier hawk with rust-colored, white-spotted feathers covering her body and long black and grey wing feathers. She has yellow-rimmed red eyes and a black, hooked beak.
Story
Backstory
Sizzle grew up an orphan in the Deathlands settlements near the Imperial City.
Time With the Nameless
Sizzle came to Duskvol searching for her father, falling in with the Nameless shortly before the War of Sevens began.
Sizzle helped ensure the smooth opening of Deckherd Hall by helping the Nameless defeat Lugos and Cassiopeia Beasby at Claddage Manor. Afterward, she agreed to owe Casta a favor in exchange for keeping Lugos’s head in the possession of the Nameless.1
At the opening of Alduaria by François, Sizzle exchanged small talk with Nat Marseilles, helped Cruncho distract Bea, and pulled the trigger on a hagfish slime explosion.2
Shortly after, Sizzle intercepted Seventh Tower contracts intended to weaken the Nameless. She “helped” Eckherd Deckerd “inspect” the lightning wall, sent an anonymous tip about an impending assassination attempt to Myleria Krev, leader of the Red Sashes, and dispatched Velvet to guide the Black Knights and the Crows to Duskvol. She also had a lovely meetup with Valanthe to discuss revolvers.3
The War of Sevens
Sizzle sourced questionable intoxicants from Reek to smuggle into a high-profile gala hosted by Seventh Tower. Upon arrival, she ran interference against (well… ran away from) Sam as the other Nameless did their best to wreck the place. Before departing, she was intercepted by the Man in the Hat, the leader of Seventh Tower… and her father. She immediately shot him in the chest.4
Beliefs & Drives
-
Money isn’t value; value is value.
Sizzle views money as a means to an end, not a goal in and of itself. And some things just can’t be bought. -
Debts get paid, one way or another.
Sizzle believes in natural consequences (and will absolutely enact them herself when necessary). -
Humanity is precious.
In a world of leviathans, demons, and ghosts, Sizzle still sees the value of humanity, individuality and connection. She will forgo gaining supernatural or political power if it means sacrificing the things that make her human. -
Always come back.
Sizzle will not abandon those she cares about. She may leave, but she will always return.
